| I was wondering what your guys favorite shot was for turkeys? Over the past few years I've been shooting Heavy Shot #5 turkey loads and that was alright I guess. The other day I patterened some Hevi 13's in #4 and #6 at 30 yards and 50 yards. They were ok at 30 yards but only a few in the bird at 50 yards. I also shot the Magnum Blend at 30 and 50 yards. Wow what a load!!! I have to say that shooting it out of the Ruger was a little uncomfortable. Those 2oz loads felt like a mule kicking the hell out of my shoulder and cheek. The only thing I can say about those loads is look out birds cause your gonna have to sew your head back on!!! That pattern was so discusting at 30 yards. There was something like 100 pellets in the head and neck. And at 50 yards there were 22 pellets in the head and neck. From past experiences, if the bird is that far out its gettin body punched anyway. I'll put up some pix when I get a minute. |

| I like the Mag Blends too. Patterened great out of Big Ern. I guess I'll save the Hevi 13's for a heavy 13 pound goose. |

Kent diamond shot seemed to pattern decent for me out of my nova with the cheapy undertaker choke. Might have to try that Magnum blend....will have to let Anthony shoot it first lol his shoulder is healthier than mine |

| I was just curious on what was the average amout of pellets should be in the kill hole at 30 and 50 yards? I got 100 plus at 30 yards and 25 at 50. If the bird is that far I'm gonna body punch him. It worked once before without even patterening the choke and shot. |

I was a firm believer in #4 shot, but then tried #6 and I really like it. If you do the math on how many more bb's you get, and you don't lose much at all in diameter, I think it is an easy choice. _________________ http://www.IndianaNature.com |
