We launch out of Turtle Creek, which is just north of Happy Hooker bait shop, and we stay right down the road from there. On saturday the lake was pretty calm, just a little chop. Sunday was a totally different lake! S-SE winds at 20-25 made it pretty rough. Lots of 2's building up to 3 footers as we were on our way in. Went out about 4 miles on sunday, and that was the farthest all weekend. You have to find that mudline. My little 16' Tracker with a 20hp tiller did excellent! You dont HAVE to have a HUGE boat to hit the great lakes...just be smart about it. _________________ When I'm not bustin' geese...I'm bustin' up the perch! |
