Well it finally happened on sat eve at 4:30..I was in my ground blind in a crp field by the tree line and hadn't seen anything all day...I had been grunting and rattling and hitting the doe bleat with nothing coming in...I heard to bucks fighting mot to far away and i could hear deer crossing a set of train tracks, but i could not see them..So i thought to my self that the wind was in my fav and I would move do wind and go sit under a lone pine tree in the field so i could see down the tracks just to see if i could spot any of the deer that i could hear..well I steeped out of the blind and i hear a grunt, i drop to my knees and out walked this buck from thick cover just 30 yards from me...He was coming at me, I raised my 50 cal and put the cross hairs on his chest and pulled the trigger. He fell to the groung and rolled over with his legs up and them got up and tried running away, well his front legs were not working and he went another 20 yards and that is where i found him about a half an hour later.. I was shaking so bad that i could not even get a text message out, I went back into my blind to sit and wiat for my brother to get there....what a great feeling...I will be deer hunting till the day that i die.......and this morning my brother got his first deer, a small 8 pointer with an arrow sticking out of his back.....What a great opening weekend... _________________ USCG Lic.
