well scouted a pothole i have yesterday had about 30 honkers on it so 4 of us decided to head out there this morning in track of 8 honkers. well we set up legal shooting hours click over and 30 seconds later i hear a cluck look out to the northeast and here come 4 birds scratched two out of there. then about 10 minutes later here come another 4 birds we scratch 3 out of there. so we pick up birds standing around the layouts, look up in the sky and here come 3 mallards, 2 drakes 1 hen, crunch the 2 drakes and let suzie go to breed another day. jump in the boat go grab the mallards i get buzzed by two ring knecks. we decide to go jump em off other side of the pothole, well while my buddy is chasing these ducks down here come 3 more geese sucking right in call the shot and the three of us each shoot on of em to finish our limit. all in all a wonderful day within an hour and ten minutes we had our limit and two mallards picked up and decided to call it a day to let other geese come in with no education we were there. so we picked up and left. hope to have pictures up soon of our hunt and some other hunts also.
oh yeah!... all of our shots were within 20 yards, the birds just did what they were supposed to, alot of hard work and gas with poor days but the outcome is just bliss! _________________ Walks, Crawls, Swims or Flies... It Dies!! |
