well me and goosebuster64 decided to give the slough duck hunt a try today as we arent a fan of the crowds and moronic decisions made by others, well today we had been reminded as to why we dislike going there! seen plenty of birds and as always this time of year they work the corn. well cant get in there just yet. anyways plenty of birds. but also plenty of the skybuster's!!!! what is the problem? i mean really, have people seriously forgotten how to duck hunt and how to work birds. if they work they work if not let em be, the less you educate them the better all of our hunting would be. also... 20 shell limit, come on guys i have shot all twenty before and didnt shoot near as much as you! well we ended up with a gaddy that decided to swim into the deeks from who knows where.. hahaha, smoked em. could have shot the solo goose that flew over the marsh and was sky busted down to another blind, and had 2 mallards cruise by at a killable speed but decided not to be those jerks that poke at anything. if you wanna poke at anything.. go get drunk at the bar, skyblast there. those of you that were successful and hunted with sincerity, thank you much and gongrats on your birds. one last thing.. if a blind is working birds the rest of you quiet up and let em have their chance if it fails then hollar at them birds. anyways thank you fellow hunters that read this and respect us others and preach the same im asking here! good luck as you probably wont see me at the slough for quiet some time. hope to see ya guys in the corn feilds across the region tearin em mally's up in layout blinds! later on..

What I love, are the asshats that will empty their guns to flare the birds off your blind. Have had that happen three times this season down there Twice in the marsh and once on the lake |

yea, i watched two drake mallards lock up to set in on the marsh in a safety hole and watched two guys hop up out of the blind and each crack a shot to keep the birds up. so they could just cruise back over to the corn instead of letting the birds hole jump in the marsh. guys need to realize, let the birds set down if they want they will continue to get up and make little moves all day in the area. _________________ Walks, Crawls, Swims or Flies... I jumped my brothers ass 2nd week into the season. We were at the slough and of course this was one of the times we had knuckle heads skybust birds working us. Well we had 2 mallards skirt us by about 70 yards. Drake lands hen is on her way in as the drake is swimming towards the spread. His dumb ass jumps up and takes a poke at her!! Both fly away and into the refuge. I swear the guys across the marsh heard me, and probably blushed.
He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer and is new to this BUT what set me off the most was 2 things.....he was complaining about the other guys more than I was, AND he had taken 2 shots at some coots about the same distance (missed them all) 15 minutes earlier that I told him were to friggin far.
Now he wonders why I don't want to take him any more Even sadder is my son took him and my wife out Saturday (I was chained to my desk for work) and the kid said he did the same damn thing at a passing group. After that the kid told him it was time to pack it in for the day.....8:30am Both he and the wife said "never again" |
