Happy 4th of july went on for perch today with Shrek AKA Ray Smith and my sons Tyler and Michael we got our limit 60 no jumbos but some nice 10 and 12 inchers. We were east of the the dough nut in about 25 feet of water

nice pics again.. a bud and me are heading out this weekend not sure if we will perching or trying for salmon. We're heading out of Portage any ideas which might be hitting better?

if it was up to me perch, your going out during the gary air show so the lake will be busy.try west of the mouth in about 20 to 25 feet of water or where ever any other boats are, two years ago we caught our limits by the air show in 30 feet of water with 200 boats by us it is very cool to watch the air show from a boat good luck

We got out later thatn I had hope, we were on the water about 8am. My buddy wanted to do a little trolling so we spend about an hour with no luck then anchored down near the ditch in about 25 foot. Got a few small perch and one that was about 12 to 14inches when the wives called to say they were at the marina waiting for us. We spent the rest of the day watching the air show and working the bi-ceps with 12once curls. We wet up with my sister and partied on her 27 footer most of the day.. All and allis was slow fishing (mostly because we didn't get enough time in) but the show was cool. Where we parked the boats was by west beach and the planes would do their turn arounds right over us. A F-18 did a fly by and broke the sound barrier which was just awesome to see!
