UNSTABLE READERS, RECENTLY SOMEONE ASKED ME WHAT KIND OF BOW THEY SHOULD BUY. I FEEL THAT WITH THE TECHNOLOGY OF TODAYS BOWS THERE IS NOT A BAD PRODUCT ON THE MARKET. GO TO A SPORTS STORE AND SHOOT A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER'S BOWS. I OWN A MARTIN, A FRED BEAR AND A MATTHEWS. THEY ALL SHOOT WELL. REMEMBER IT IS NOT THE BOW IT IS THE GUY PULLING BACK THE CABLES. IF YOU PRACTICE YOU WILL KILL. WILD BILL.

I couldn't agree more. Once you get a price range, look at waratees and fit the bow properly, every bow on the market will kill a deer, turkey, or whatever you want to use it for. Practice, practice, practice. I have hunted with enough guys that don;t practice and think that the bow will shoot the same as it did last year. It is usually those guys that cause me to be out way past my bedtime, tracking a wounded deer. Find a bow you like (reputable shops will let you shoot a bow before you buy) and practice!

CHROMEDOME, I SEE WE HUNT WITH GUYS THAT ARE THE SAME. THEY LIKE TO BRING THEIR BOW OUT OF THE CLOSET A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE THE SEASON. PRACTICE DOES MAKE PERFECT NO MATTER WHAT YOUR DOING. IF YOU HAVE TIME TO DRINK BEER YOU SHOULD HAVE TIME TO SHOOT THAT BOW. WILD BILL.

I agree with chrome dome. I have shot alot of bows in my time, and it all comes down to what you can afford to spend. There is no doubt some of the more expensive bows may be smoother or lighter, but that does not necessarily make them better for you. You need to go to a REPUTABLE store or shop and find a bow that fits you and that you won't have to sell your house to afford. But remember a bow is only as good as the guy pulling its strings so when you do find one, be sure to practice (ALOT)!
