Yep,, Pigeon made the trip over... Cost me half adays pay and $30 in gas,,, but a bud and I made it over there.. Wasnt sure what to expect,, as this is really outta my hands when it comes to dealing with suites and such..

I forgot my camera,, so my bud took these pics with his cell...



First thing,, they passed around a sign-up sheet.. It asked for your Name,, Organization,, and E-mail...

I looked it over real well,, and I'll tell you what I did see.. I saw St Joe river home owners association,, I saw government names,, and I saw a few NRA.. I did NOT see any Delta or DU or any of that on the list!!!

I put Chris Mcdonald,, Indiana Sportsman,, and my email!!

Right away when they went into the hunting part,, the room got real tense!! And they already had all the home-owner association guys lined up and ready... It was already planned for them.. First thing up was the guy that was involved in the Hunter Harrasment from a couple years ago.. He still tried to paint his story of how we are CRIMINALS with no respect for the law.. Terrozing poor old ladies and shooting nothing but tame ducks... THen he passed out pics and diagrams and such on how our BAZZOKA loads are capable of bringing down elephants at 285 yards.. He went on about how I was killing ducks over his dock,, and hitting his house and neighbors playgrounds and such... All the while he didnt realize who I was... Then another of his neighbors was up,, and he started in on the same thing.. How there is no way the ducks are even migrating in Oct,, that we are shooting tame ducks,,, that get soo close we should use a .22

On and On and On about some very off the wall stuff that doesnt even relate to waterfowl hunters..

The fisrt guy had his own pics,, which was what got him on the other side of this eqation.. He kept stating that there was no land between the house's,, that we were hunting off his dock.. Well,, then it was my turn to step up to the plate here.. I quickly had the entire panel back looking at his pics.. Sure enough he had a pic of my boat,, and the 3 empty lots between his house and his nieghbor.. Whick they all looked right back at him after this.. I explained how there was NO WAY to even shoot near his house,, as it was behind us.. Again they all looked right at him again.. I explained about me killing a NICE pair of widgeons on opening day which is in Oct.. Them birds were not tame!! I explained to them I killed a banded woody that was from New Jersey.. Tame from New jersey? Not migrating in Oct?

I explained that we are not shooting BAZZOOKAS out there.. I told them they would all be surprised to go out and look at where this guys house sits and where we were hunting..

In my opinion,, I held up our end of the bargain real well.. I know that I am missing some of this,, and will probably add more too this story.. The Tribune reporter was there also,, so I am sure he will have another story in the next couple days also...

In the end,, I dont think they are gonna get this to pass the way they have it right now... But they sure taint gonna give up..

And once again,, our biggest supporters are the DNR.. I cant remember this guys name,, but he is the head of the Law Enforcement side of the DNR... He was hands down the biggest help.. I took my pic with him a Rob Carter after the meeting was over..

PIGEON, I THINK THAT YOU DID THE RIGHT THING AND HANDLED IT VERY PROFESSIONALLY. MY CAMO HAT COMES OFF AND SALUTES YOU. GUYS LIKE YOU WHO ARE NOT AFRAID TO STAND UP AND VIEW YOUR OPINIONS TO SAVE HUNTING FOR THEMSELVES AND OTHER OUTDOORSMAN. HOPEFULLY THE WATERFOWLERS WILL BE ABLE TO HUNT THE RIVERS FOR A LONG TIME TO COME. WE ARE NOT CRIMINALS WITH BAZOOKAS, JUST GUYS WHO HOLD A DEEP PASSION FOR OUR OUTDOOR HUNTING ACTIVITIES.
