well it has taken me a little bit to post about the anual september du meeting event last thursday. anyways i go there with intentions on winning some cool gear so i pay into the trailer raffel a good chunk of change then pay into a few other raffles then decide to do the $100.00 tear ticket package. so the night goes on and a few drinks are had and the usual hunting "stories" start to fly around the pavilion of who shot what and how for early season. so the guys start yelling off winners for certain raffles and 5 buddies of mine all around me are winning a box of decoy's here and there a blind bag, a bird hitch, a mojo, a marlon .22, well by this point im fed up and ticked off, granted i know the money goes for good deeds but its nice to walk out of there with something, ya know. well they get down to the puddler package and the feild package, again my number isnt called so at this point all hope is lost, they go to call the last number for the last prize available and decide to do a get go around of thank you's to everyone that helped out, the money raised and so on, so i nod my head to give a warm your welcome, cause i deffinetly donated tonight.. then i turn my head to a buddy who says this is yours, BAM my number is read out..let me tell ya it took a second for this to register cause the chairman started looking around getting ready to call another number then i yelled hey! thats me, right here in front of you man.. hahahaha so all in all it was a great night even without the wining of the feild package, it was still a great night with a bunch of great guys. well i just felt like sharing some of the excitement that has finally worn off three days later.
