DUDE, THE REMINGTON 11-87 IS A QUALITY GUN FOR THE MONEY. IT IS A LITTLE HEAVY BUT IS A MONSTER IN THE FIELD. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THAT FIREARM, WILD BILL.

Wild Bill is right, i have hated remingtons ever since i had a first gen 597, but even I respect the 1187. its got a very proven track record and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I had a remington 1187 3 inch gun and ran it into the ground. Upgraded to the 1187 supermag 3 1/2 and it was broke down more than working.

Bought a beretta extrema 5 years ago and the gun is awesome.

I pretty much agree that the 1187 is generally an excellant choice for the money for a Semi auto. I have one and enjoyed it alot but with my experience as a waterfowl guide in Arkansas I have found that during the conservation Snow Goose hunt that the 1187 as well as most other Semi auto's will jam up while ejecting empties do to Arkansas mud that seems to get on everything. (Gumbo mud) I had to break mine down in the field 2 to 3 times on a good day to give it a quick cleaning. Now I shoot a
3 1/2" Black Eagle II. It is a little expensive but to date I have not had to clean it once in the field and have not had a Jam-up.

Don't shoot it unless your going to eat it.
Catch and release today so you can catch it again another day.
