Hey guys letting you know there is a private pond behind the movie theatre in valpo. I was out fishing it today and was told it is a no trespassing area. Just letting you all know so no one gets in trouble.
I did not know it was private property so beware. |

| I enter in from behind the theatre, you would think there would be signs back there. |

Wait, what happened? Who told you 'no trespassing'? As far as I'm concerned, the only people with the authority to do that would be the Police and the developer of Porter Vale. That pond is now a 'drainage' pond. Maybe a portion of it still resides on private property, the far east side, but the majority of it is on the land bought by the developer who built Porters Vale. Until the developer posts signs, I'm still fishing it. And anyone who tells me otherwise better have a business card or a badge. _________________ -Kley-

I agree Kley! Im not from the area but there are many fishing holes that I frequent. No one is gonna tell me where I can or can't fish unless they have the proper authority to do so!! _________________ Nation Wide Is In The House |

| I was told that the whole thing was owned by a big wig attorney and that he stocks it with bluegill and crappie. This is what i was told I do plan to call the dnr about that. Just beware if you go in the man that kicked me out carries a 9mm. I carry a gun too but would rather let the police handle that. |

Sounds like a line to me. I'm going to fish the Ameriplex pond more then ever now. I already had my boat on it once, I'll do it again. I want to meet this a-hole and give him a earful. There are a lot of people who will post their own "no tresspassing" signs on property that doesn't belong to them because they want to horde it to themselves. Sometimes residents in subdivisions put up "No Fishing" signs because they don't like seeing people fishing near their house. The bottom line is, they don't own the property and until the person who does speaks up (or the police get involved), I'm not stopping. I'd like to see him show me that 9mm. I'll laugh as the cops come and confiscate it and throw him in jail for intimidation.
Message me when you go out there next, I'll join you. If you go and get harassed again, ask the guy for his full name and the full name of this Attorney. You can then call his office and ask about it. If he confirms that he does in fact own the pond, then confirm that the guy you met even knows him. People seriously do this all the time.
Eazy, I fish Mokena, New Lennox, and Orland quite a bit. I'll bet I've been do some of your fishing holes. There are a lot of great ponds out that way. _________________ -Kley-

Hey guys just remember that all property is owned by someone. Unless it is posted as a park someone owns the land around and the land under a body of water. Even though there are signs you might be trespassing. Just be carefull. _________________ www.IntotheGreatLakes.com

I fish mainly ponds, and have for years now. It's just frustrating because I've see it happen so many times where some guy throws a "No Tresspassing" sign on a pond that he doesn't own or have the rights to do so on. The catch is, you don't know who put that sign there, and challenging someone could get you into trouble. If you couldn't tell, I'm disgruntled from seeing it so I have kind-of a bad attitude about it anymore. I have a tendancy to doubt the signs or anyone who shows up to kick me out. _________________ -Kley-

| In order to find out who owns that pond I would have to go to the county accesors office. But I do agree you don't know for sure who owns it. To me though its not worth getting threatened till I find out. Would like to know though cause that is a very good fishing spot caught some nice bass out of it. |

| I stopped and to a look at that pond in early spring. I didn't have anyone say anything to me but then again I was only scoping it out. At the time the water was high from rains and it didn't look that accessible. It sucks that this guy gave you the boot especially if you've had some luck there. I don't recall having seen any signs up. |
