Hunting here in Illinois is at it's best now. The migration has arrived. We have been hunting our new club by Braidwood Lake and have had great success. Only problem is that we have not taken to many pictures. We have had numerous times where we had our limit of geese and they were still working us and landing in our spread and walking all around us while we were waiting on the ducks. Tuesday before the snow hit we saw numerous birds coming into the lake, Mark had to leave early and just after he left the birds started working real good. Ed and I ended up with our 4 geese and 6 ducks 2 short of a limit. Went back Wednesday, hunted all day with 4 hunters ended up with 8 geese and 10 mallards, never saw so many geese and ducks, they started coming out at 9:00 am and never stopped till 4:00pm groups of 25-200. One time we had over 300 geese working our spread coming from all directions, some walking in the decoys, we had so much fun working them that we did not even shoot. Two times we had over 200 mallards working us, again landing in the decoys, again we did not shoot, did not want to educate that many birds. One smaller group of 100 mallards did make the mistake of coming in and we dropped 7, our guest forgot to reload his gun. One member of our club shot 2 banded ducks with one shot, one a hen mallard the other one had a green mallard head and a black duck body, pretty cool looking duck, they also shot another banded duck out of the same flock.

Here Hath's son PJ on his first Goose hunt with us, it was real cold 15 degrees and he never complained.

Tuesday during the storm, it sure is nice to hunt from heated pits when it is in the single digits
