Met up with uglyduckling this morning DARK and EARLY!!!!
He was KIND enough to look out for a guy that was worried... And he said that he had found the X....
Here is a couple shots in the early darkness getting things ready to ROLL!!!
Man O man,, when Kevin says he has found the X,, you better hold on to yer SHORTS.. Cause after the sun came out and shed a little light,, Man o man do the birds come out to play..
First thing up was a REAL nice sized group off in the distance.. Look a little father,, and theres another,, look a little farther and theres 3 groups heading our way.. I dont even wanna guess at how many were in each of the 3 groups,, but when they all 3 hooked up right above us.. It was DEFENING!!!! I really cant even remeber how it all went down.. I dont know if the geese were more startled by us,, or we were more startled by them?
My little girl was having a tough time with all the action,, but with a FIRM grip on her collar outside the flag hole,, I was able to keep her inside of her blind.. Even after we had another HUGE group on the ground right beside us,, and waiting on more to finsh,, she actually held stong and didnt bust us once.. THank goodness!!
In the end,, it was a AWESOME morning!! We had a good steady supply of action for a good portion of the morning!!! Thanks a million Kevin for the offer,, I had a great time!! Final count was 17 birds.. Couple more pics of the end results.. Check out this little guy also,, he is HOOKED!!

pigeon- since you are the master of the St. Joe- and preparing eating fish what did you guys do with the goose breast- always looking for different ways to prepare it- at the DU party in Porter County a couple of weeks ago we had Goose-shish-ka-bob- it wasn't to bad- _________________ Capt. Gar |
