I'm just now getting around to this. Back on the 24th and 25th I took my wife and son out to Jasper-Pulaski to hit a few of the ponds there. This was my son's first fishing trip... he's 5 years old. The only action we found was at the pond behind the check-in station. The blue gill were aggressive but there didn't seem to be anything else in the pond. My son started out with real worms but wanted to use a plastic grub he saw in my tackle box. I hooked him up with that and was surprised at the results.

Here's his first fish. It may be a little small but look at Keenan's excitement!

This is the biggest bluegill of the weekend. Not so big but the boy is lovin' it. Don't mind the blue fingernails, they are my wife's I swear.

I don't know what to say about this one...

I had a blast on my son's first fishing trip and he can't wait to go out again.

On a side note, I went out to the Gravel Pits there in JP yesterday morning. I caught a monster blue gill, a crappy, and a 10 or so inch bass. Once the sun hit the pond I stopped getting bites. People came and went with no action either. I know there's big fish there...

Good times Brother. Once he's hooked (pun intended) his addiction to fishing will only get worse. Just wait until he hooks his first bass!! I'm glad to see you guys made it out and had a good time.
