Fished for carp on Friday, stayed out all day........ The baits of choice were corn and pack bait.... My numbers for the day are as follows I went 24 for 39....I would have to say it is one of the best days I have ever had for carping.....I had five doubles on Friday where I was fight one fish and another rod would go off and then I would put the first rod between my legs and fight the fresher fish.......The biggest carp was just around 20 lbs with the smallest around 5 lbs, but I would have to say that the avg was in the teens...i had one fish break me off after a long run and I was using 14 lb test......Saw a few fish that were pushing 50 lbs but couldnt get them to go.....here are a few pics.....
Another fishermen's girl got in on the action when i handed her a rod with a carp on it.....
Guy from another web site.....
Carp # 20
Carp # 24
1st sheephead of the year......

| I haven't "carped" since I was a kid, but have to admit it was always fun. Its just like any other type of fishing, with the exception that you usually catch some pretty darn good-size fish. Couple poles, beer, & friends - tis the season... |

What do you do with them after you catch them? I've heard the carp are a "garbage fish" and some people beach them, that's why I ask. _________________ -Kley-

That is a common misconception about carp.....In Europe they are on the menus of many fine restaurants....I let all of them go unless i want to keep a small one for smoking......... _________________ USCG Lic. Captain
