I spent three days in Kansas and didn't get the opportunity to bang a gobbler down. So I got home a day before our season opened and my first morning in the field I had gobblers all around me. Never saw them fly down but I heard one on the far end of the CRP. I could not see him but he was closer than I thought. I gave out a few clucks and some putts and I could hear him gobbling towards me. I then saw him running down the field through the morning dew with his beard flopping from side to side. He then stopped about 15 yards to my left looking for the hen. LIGHTS OUT GOBBLER!!!!!

He weighed 22 lbs with 3/4 inch spurs and 10 1/4 inch beard. |

Nice....I think our's migrated  lol been out last 2 days and have not heard a single gobble or seen a bird. |

Man Ruger, when you shot you scared the dog s*&^ out of me.
Then when I saw you walking back to the truck with your bird, I started to cry. Why was I crying? BECAUSE I THOUGHT YOU LEFT ME! 
Nice bird. You could have posted a pic of my "trophy" Tom, I mean Jake.
