Well we went out this afternoon to Dawn to Dusk hunt club in South Haven so the wife and kids could get their Christmas present from me. We had 10 pheasants paid for (we seen and they shot at a lot more lol). We ended up with 5 roosters and 1 chuckar by the time we were done. Hated like hell I lost the first bird of the day, but between us and Sally (Anthony's dog) we spent a good 30 minutes chasing the damn thing and he eventually gave us all the slip

I was really proud of Sally's effort considering she is all instinct and no real training. Several times she had that wounded bird up in the air, just not high enough to safely shoot. The chuckar was a surprise, so much that Maggie and I were taking a break at the end of the field and just looking around and talking, and she stepped on it!! It jumped up and took off, by the time I got my gun up he was a good 30 yards out, I fired 1 shot and dropped him. Damn those things are FAST!! In the end everyone had fun and everyone shot at least 1 bird each, including Maggie. For pen raised birds these things flew like wild birds, some held tight, and yea we had a few runners.

Wildbill, Maggie is going to use some of the feathers from the second mutant for her jigs she is donating to the WFUSA dinner again....Mr. Quickdraw Anthony skull capped him...tends to happen with a mod choke at 15 feet. Told him next time to let the bird flap his wings more than twice lol

Momma said this one needs to go to the taxi. Real nice bird with 20 1/2 in tail feathers to boot.

Group shot after the hunt.
