In the Lafayette area to celebrate Christmas with the Wife's side of the family. One of her uncles says, Bring you stuff and you can hunt my land. I was told it was in the Urban Zone." Hey, why not! I looked-up the address and checked the DNR website and, what do you know, he was told correctly! So while the in-laws played with my children, I sat a climbing stand in a small patch of woods. After seeing nothing on Saturday, I decided that this morning's hunt would be the last of the year, as Christmas Dinner would take-up the afternoon hunting time. So, if it was brown, it was down. About 8:04, this 8-point joker came walking through and stepped in front of my 17-yard tree. Thanks to the in-laws for convincing me to come down for another Christmas celebration! Number 4 in the freezer! Now, time to load the ice fishing stuff into the truck!
