Well with momma gone now it's been pretty rough around here, everyone's pretty bummed out about grandma being sick and mom 200+ miles away taking care of her. So Saturday and Sunday I took my 2 and my buddy took his son and we went to the Waterfowl USA property to lay the smack down on some doves and enjoy a nice weekend. Maggie couldn't shoot but she didn't mind and loved the fact that she was showing up some 12 & 13 yr old boys down at the other end of the field on how to retrieve doves Was pretty funny seeing these two boys poking the doves with sticks to make sure they were dead first before picking them up. When we started dropping them Maggie went out and just snatched em up like a pro and ran back into the corn we were hiding in. The first two were still flapping lol I managed to blow the heart of one out it's backside!! It committed suicide and flew straight at me. Was kind of gory as even with it's heart hanging OUTSIDE of it's backside it sat 5 feet in front of me looking around as Maggie picked it up it expired. Made another shot backing my buddies boy up. Took the doves head clean off at 35 yards! #7 Federals threw a Kicks High Flyer improved cylinder choke. Is it wrong that a 7yr old girl thought that was the coolest thing of the day....bringing back the dove in 2 pieces?

Here she is with the first half dozen (crappy cell phone pic)

While we were out yesterday another buddy called and wanted to know if I wanted to go chase geese. Well I had already told Maggie she could have the entire day today to play with her friends as they all got back from their weekends. So Anthony went out with Adam and they got out on the bayou and this is the result

1 BWT and 3 Geese. They landed all 3 in the decoys....only problem with that is the geese didnt want to get up or swim out of the decoys lol so Adam said swat em after 5 minutes of yelling at them and jumping up and down. A couple decoys caught some of the carnage lol luckily all head shots so they still float.

Momma said she loved the play by play all weekend, and texted every half hour for updates on the dove shoots

Young kids and a pup- what a great start to the season . Great to see the youngsters so involved early in life!
