Ran over to Mom's in Hobart tonight to see some family in from Canada. AJ decided to grab an ultralight with a 1/32-oz jig on it. After land a couple of 8" bass, he started yelling at me. I soon found-out why....

All I did was pick it up out of the water. What a ball I had watching him fight this pig! I esimated it to be 18-19 inches

I also found that there were some big bluegill left in the pond. I caught this 10" gill on a 2/0 hok with a 4" power minnow. I think it is a hybrid gill, but is probably the biggest gill I have ever caught.

I truly thought that I had a bass on the line. It was wide and thick. I would guess around a pound. Didn't have anything to measure it with, so everything is an estimate.

Anywho....I think AJ is finally hooked.....pun intended.

Nice fish! Especially that gill... you don't see em' that big around here very often.

I love fishing those little sub ponds. I pulled a 2.5lb Large-mouth out this week from the pond across the street from my house. I've caught bigger fish in little ponds then I've caught in lakes.

All it takes is one good catch and they're hooked. Well done!
