Me and two friends got out for a bit yesterday to long lake. My one friend just had surgery on his shoulder so we knew he would be able to do any hard casting so we decided to hit some gills. As we were boating to our gill spot we noticed some structure on the finder and marked it too come back later. We did alright on the gills with a few good redears but decided to go back to that structure and see if we could get a bite. Luckily my friend had gotten some minnows because normally we just use wigglers. We get set up over the structure and I cast out. Not 30 seconds and I got a fish on! One good size crappie for the basket. A minute or two later my buddy gets one. We thinking this is going to be great. We get a few more in then things get real slow. It's about 11 -12 in the afternoon so we figure the bite is off. We fish for a bit more but it seems they would take the minnow for a sec and spit it out. That can get frustedating. All and all it was agood day. We got rained on for a while but then it cleared up and was nice. We got that spot marked and you can be sure we'll get back there again. I got one pic when we stopped by the Elks for a beer.

Well done. I've always heard Long Lake was good for pan fish. I've never had any luck bassin' out there. _________________ -Kley-
