Two days ago I bought a Duralast Deep Cycle Marine Battery available at any AutoZone. After going to both Bass Pro Shop and Cabelas, and hearing there whole load of crap about how there expensive batteries will out perform, blah blah blah. I thought I could get a better deal on a good deep cycle battery. I stopped by my local Autozone and found they did carry one kind of deep cycle marine battery. The following link will take you to it. Damn its a long link.

I ran 2 fish finders and my trolling motor off that puppy from sunrise to sunset on Bass Lake yesterday. And it provided plenty of power to my Minn Kota trolling motor. It is only a 36# thrust trolling motor, so it is not the power hog that some of the larger ones are, but I bet this battery could power those just fine. When I got back home and put it on my battery meter, I still had just under half the charge left. Seems like an excellent battery to me. And at a total under 80 bucks with the dead battery I gave them, its a deal and a half. I hooked it up to my charger at about 11 pm last night and when i got up this morning for church it was done charging. I think I will be very happy with this battery, who needs those 200 dollar batteries. _________________ Its been said a million times, and it is still as true as ever, a bad day fishing is still better than a good day working. |

My own personal opinion on batteries,, I've stopped buying those EXPENSIVE ones and just buy the plain ol Wally specials each time I need one. They seem to last just as long and power just as good. _________________ Feet Down!!!!! |

Guys I have to agree with Jigs, I had terrible luck with Interstates so I tried the less expensive route, and trust me, I followed all the rules of charging, check h2o levels, all the shit you read, and it got to the point I considered batteries to be a disposable/yearly thing. It does seem from the people I know that have invested the big money on batteries are getting what they have paid for. Good Luck with your batteries, hope I am wrong on this one. _________________ Team Unstable's Master of the Mango Martini and MINN #1. |

I have had nothing less than excellent luck with my Duralast Deep Cycle Marine Battery. It took on the conditions of the Turtle Flamboau Flowage in the northwoods of wisconsin. And it lasted longer on a more powerful trolling motor than my buddies Cabelas Deep Cycle. Though it has not had a winter in the garage, I have had no bad experiences with my Duralast Deep Cycle battery. _________________ Its been said a million times, and it is still as true as ever, a bad day fishing is still better than a good day working. |
