Observers Wanted

The Hoosier Coho Club Classic committee is looking for a few good men, or women, to be volunteer observers during its' 35th annual fishing tournament on May 2-3, 2009 in Michigan City.

Basically, being an observer amounts to a free boat ride with some pretty good fishermen. Fishing experience is appreciated, but not necessary.

Designated observers may ride either Saturday, Sunday or both days.

The Classic tournament attracts many of the best salmon anglers from around Lake Michigan and awards $50,000 in various prizes with first place payouts of $7,500 in the Pro division and $2,500 on the Amateur side.

Observers will be required to attend an informal training and rules overview session on Friday evening (May 1) prior to the Classic and be ready to board boats promptly at 6 a.m. on May 2 and/or May 3. Fishing periods are 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.

i would do it i did it one year and it was alot of fun. can not do it this year cuz i am going to be fishing it.

who is running this outing is it the same group who is runnung the $25,000 perch contest. I usually don't fish that far east on the lake and don't know that many organizations over there.

This is the Coho Classic which is run by the Coho Club. The Perch tourney is a different set of people.
