I know it is not often you can brag about a boat repair shop or motor repair. But it finally happened to me. I brought my boat in to Mike Davis at Water Werks located at 18660 S Cicero Avenue, County Club Hills. Mike is the new service department manager. The boat was brought in for lower unit work and they have treated me great. They were actually calling me with updates and letting me know what was going on, he had the lower unit replaced with a new prop within 1 week. Then there was recall work on my Yamaha motor, the Yamaha service rep - Jason Barg -could not be beat. He came out from Wisconsin did 2 recalls one for re-routing some wiring and to replace the oil pump. When doing that he also stated that if the oil pump did have some problems it might have damaged the power head, so he replaced that also. So basically the motor has been rebuilt. The boat was in the shop less than 2 weeks for everything, and as I said they called with updates I did not have to call them. When they were finished the Yamaha rep - Jason, would not leave till we put the boat in the water and test drove it for a couple of hours. So we did that last Thursday at Braidwood lake which was colddddd because it was only 29 degrees without the wind chill and then driving on the water. While running the boat I told Jason that I had to get the trim gauge fixed and he said to wait a minute and looked at the motor and figured out what was wrong and fixed it in the parking lot when we were done. He did not charge me for it. Also Jason informed me that he added a second larger fuel filter due to poor quality of gas nowadays. Basically Water Werks and Yamaha delivered outstanding service. I love the commitment Yamaha has to their motors and the service at Water Werks. If you have problems with your Yamaha motors you can reach Jason at 770-420-5873.

Please post any similar service, always good to know where we can get our boats worked on that provides good service.

Look for me on the water this year, I will be in the camo Skeeter, not hard to miss.

Later, Bassaholic...............

Thats great to hear you've got a reliable place to take your boat. I've got a yamaha 225 v-max and i havn't had any service on it that i can brag about. This fall my trim screwed up and i took it in to Erwin's in valpo. I told them I need it tip top for my regional tour. on kentucky lake and $700 and 3 weeks later they said it was ready. I got down on the lake a few days early to start practice and i noticed i was loosing presure in my seals again. So I called them and told them what the @#%# and they were like well its prob something else just bring it in when i got back. So needless to say it was compleatly shot on day 2 of the tour. and we couldn't get back to the fish in the shallow bays because i had no trim. So, i brought it in and they told me my trim motor burned out and that was another $700 and 7+ weeks later and now i just had it out and the trim is making a knocking sound that i was hearing before it went bad the first time so Im gonna tell them fix it or get sewed because im tired of them. I'll never go back after that. Well anyways thanx for the info on your guy i think ill be getting ahold of him next time i have a problem.

Team Cobra sorry to hear about you bad service. Since Water Werks hired the service manager they seeem to be great. Just picked up the boat today. After all the motor work, I had them also work on a few gauges, livewell drain. Paid $500 this time but they had to replace my tachometer, which was hard to match, fixed fuel pump gauge not working, fixed livewell value, both tach and livewell parts were special ordered. So total time in shop was 3 weeks, for new lower unit, new prop, new powerhead and fixing the gauges, livewell. Not to bad at all. It would of only been 2 weeks if I had thought to have them fix the gauges before when they were working on everything else.

I picked up the boat on Saturday 03/15/2008 and had it in the water on Sunday 03/16/2008 no problems with the service work today. Water Werks was real helpful and did a great and fast job. Can't wait till I have it broke in now to really run it.

See you on the water,

Well i took your advice bassaholic and took my boat to water works early last week. I had a full tune up done on the boat, trailor, and motor including, a water pump, fluid changes, plugs/wires, filters, installing an onboard charger, new crank. bat., install sonar for gps, fix trailor lights, fix hydrolics, add a water seperator/ filter, etc. anyways i told them i needed it by this friday and everything was done on time. The boat ran like a champ this weekend and even though it didn't bring me to victory it didn't cost me one like those SOBs at Erwin's did. Well thanx again for the advice i loved there service and how they kept me informed the whole way. I would recomend Water Works to anyone who needs repairs on there boat.

Hey Team Cobra,

Very Happy Great to hear you had the same service I had. Hope they can be that quick all the time, maybe hard to do with the warm weather coming up, but at least they let you know what is going on and when to expect it. It is hard to find a boat place that takes care of us, like they seem to have so far....... I won't be going anywhere else, everything they did for me has been working great with no problems. I know it may have been a little out of your way to go there, but seems like it was worth the drive.

Are you fishing any tournaments this weekend? If so where, maybe I will see you there, looking to get started this weekend.

Later, Bassaholic......

Yeah it was definently worth the drive only took about 45min. Actually im just fishin a club tournament at mississinnewa on sunday but going there saturday. Its more or less practice for top 8 i never fished there so i need to get to know the lake. Next weekend ill prob fish lake george or koontz, i think that operators tour is this weekend or next tho. I don't wanna fish koontz sunday if there gonna fish it saturday. Fish are hard enough to catch there already. Well Ill keep in touch i might also fish some IL tours this year too let me know about some good ones. Im fishin Rend Lake for TVA Veterans tour, more or less a charity thing. Well like i said keep me posted and good luck fishin.
