So I finally got out to do some fishing. I've been embracing other outdoor hobbies as of late, but I'm feeling the fishing bug again, especially now the fall is almost upon us. We hit three different local retention ponds and did okay. I lost two nice ones at the end too.
This is the biggest crappie I've ever caught. I thought it was a bass at first. 1.0 lbs on the scale:
Alex had a bass in the first 5 casts. A little shy of 2.5 lbs.
Don followed up later with a largemouth right at 2.5 lbs.
Al had another BEAST! How do you catch a fish this small...
We also saw this big ol' goldfish hanging out. She's probably 18" long too.

lol, when I was posting the pictures above I saw the birds too and a little part of me knew that someone was going to say something.... hahaha
These are actually just subdivision retention ponds. No farm ponds here. Ponds that people think have nothing but bluegill in them... but the fishing has been better than the lakes around here for us. I've was hitting the local lakes pretty hard and the ponds just always seem to turn up more fish... and bigger fish. _________________ -Kley-
