WHAT THE OUTDOORS MEANS TO ME
As a late bloomer in regards to the outdoors (fishing and hunting) I must
say one of the most important things is that you surround yourself with
good, safe people. I am very fortunate to have great friends that all
started early in life in regards to the outdoors. Wild Bill, Capt. Jigs,
Doc, Tommy B, and Hath have been mentors in helping me find tranquility
and appreciation of the outdoors. It also helps that they all are a little
whacked! I have always enjoyed nature and have great respect for the
outdoors. These guys, especially Wild Bill have made my learning an
enjoyable experience. I did not start fishing and hunting until my mid
20’s. Since then I use our ‘get-aways’ to relax and enjoy the total
experience. You can’t describe in words the camaraderie between friends
while still enjoying the excitement of catching your first Northern Pike
or shooting your first goose. I would not trade these times for anything.
Being from the Midwest, we have several opportunities to expand our
outdoor activities. Whether it would be Snowmobiliing across the state of
Wisconsin, riding with friends through the greatness of Yellowstone
National Forest, or floating in a boat dressed in camo waiting for the
first flight of the morning. Fun is had by all! A few skeletons were
developed along the way, let’s hope they stay in the closet. I have found
that it is not the place that creates the memories; it’s the people you are
with. Whether you throw a brand new bait-caster and pole in the water,
blow a piston in your sled, shoot a blind by mistake, get hooked in the
head with a Musky lure or even fall out of the boat into the water – it’s
the memories that will last forever. The people you get to meet along the
way and the diversity in all of their lives is something that you can’t
put a price tag on. A boat may cost $15,000, a rod-reel combo may cost
$200.00, the bait may cost $5.00, but the memories and good times had by
all is “PRICELESS”.
I hope you enjoy this website: The pictures, the stories, the product
reviews, and real life experiences of Wild Bill, our friends, and myself
as much as we enjoy sharing them.
Have fun and be safe!
