TAKE YOUR TIME GETTING THERE
On January 1st this year Wild Bill and his neighbor Rick Dibkey decided to
bring in the New Year right and go goose hunting. The night before the
snow was coming down pretty hard. Leaving a little earlier allowing more
time to get there might have been a good idea.
The field that we had been goose hunting was holding a ton of feeding
birds. The adrenaline of the hunt tends to make one push down on the
vehicles gas pedal a little harder, especially when you happen to be
running a little late.
That morning we got lucky and avoided the wreck that happen in front of
us. Rick put his truck in the ditch in the nick of time. Nobody was
injured and I explained that taking your time would get one to your
destination quicker and safer. After we were pulled out of the ditch we
made it to the field and brought the new year in with a good morning shoot
on geese. Remember to try and leave early and take your time. Luckily we
were able to laugh about this little mishap.
