Diawa Steez 103 HA Bait Caster
Talk about spending some loot!
I purchased the Diawa Steez 103 HA Bait Caster- My friends gave me a lot
of grief but let me tell you folks - every dollar spent was well worth it-
This bait caster not only lives up to it's review but in my eyes well
surpasses it's expectations. I anchored it down to a G-Loomis 6' 9"
Medium- Heavy Fast action rod. WHAT A COMBO!! You get another
couple hundred casts per day because of the light weight, no fatigue
setting in here with this combo. The fast action and the feel you get when
reeling in- you can feel every little hit whether the fish are mauling the
lure or short hitting the hook. I have caught an eight oz. baby bass up to
a large 12 lb. Northern. The reel is all that it is cracked up to be and
with the assistance of the G-Loomis (very few fish will be lost). Setting
the hook is so easy , even an amateur like myself can play in the big boys
lakes. You ever get a nice pair of gloves that are
broke in and they fit perfect? Well let me tell you that is what this
Steez-G-Loomis combo feels like. I guess there is some truth to the phrase
"it fits like a glove".
Now remember it is expensive. I think between the 2 it's around $650.00.
Now - if you want to cast like the pro's - this is your reel. With it's
5.5 OZ. weight, ultra compact body style, 12 ball bearing system, and
adjustable micro-click drag this reel is a must have!!!!!!! What can I say
about G-Loomis- that already hasn't been said- one of the most dependable
and lightest rods on the market. So sell your old junk laying around the
house- cut back on Christmas presents - and get yourself an enjoyable-
dependable - long lasting rod- reel combo that will not be going out of
style anytime soon.
Daiwa also makes the Steez in a open face reel- I am torn to buy yet
another bait caster or open face reel but I can guarantee my next purchase
will be one of Diawa's Steez reels. May your next BIG fish be caught on a
Steez-G-Loomis combo!
Until next time I hope when your bragging about having a BIG ONE, it's a
fish on the line.
